Who are you ?

Hello everyone.

It was one of the days of my engineering vacation (not vacation rather holidays), and I was bored of boredom (literally), I had nothing much to do except watching India 'A' vs West Indies.

One fine evening I was sitting along with my mother in the kitchen and talking about social topics, as such how to put forward yourself to the people who are you concerned with....and blah-blah-blah.......the conversation was going pretty well till my mother asked me two serious questions...for which I didn't had any answer (you can say I felt like dumb!). I was and I am still thinking about about the answer.........

I am writing this blog especially because I want you should also think about these questions on a serious note...they might just be the turning point in your life....

(I am putting forward the questions as situations, for better understanding......)

1st situation:

Imagine two people (say A and B), both equally talented but different characters. A challenged B, on who can win more number of prizes amongst set of five events. B accepted the challenge.

'A', thinking that participating in all five events would increase his chances to in more prizes, thus he registered for all events, so did 'B'.

On the day of events, both A and B began participating for the events.... After some time, both of them realised that they don't have enough stamina to sustain five events.

'A' being an egoistic person didn't wanted to quit any of the events, and he carried on participating in all 5. On contrary 'B' decided to quit 3 events of the 5 in which he was participating, thereby decreasing his chance of winning the challenge.

Now at the time of prize distribution ceremony, 'A' was awarded with nothing while 'B' winning an award for one of his remaining two events.

So what is the conclusion:

Well, I might go with 'B'. Reason being, sometimes you need to put your ego in your pocket, don't go with the ideology, 'The day you quit, the day you die'.... thats all bullshit. I mean, no one is going to remember your character....only your achievements are going to be recorded.....how many of us remembers draws in test cricket ?.....what we remember is the final standings. For what 'B' did(quitting), would have been a 'feeling of loss' for 'A', but for 'B' it was a crucial decision to quit those events to win other. I hope you get the point.

2nd situation:

Again consider two people (say A and B), both equally talented but different characters.
This time around they are performing in a dance contest and they reached finale, both of them danced equally and exceptionally well, this made the judges confused regarding who should win...so they decided to go for a tie breaker....it wasn't a face-off ,instead they decided to opt for a question answer round.

'A' was called on to the stage.................

Judge: Your dace was well choreographed......(and all other craps of talks).
'A' : !@#$%^&*

Judge: Whom did you dance for ?
'A' : Audience !

Judge: Whom would you give credits for your performance?
'A' : Myself.

Judge: Thank you!

Now, 'B' was called on to the stage..................

(Judges asked all the bullshit in the beginning )

Judge: Whom did you dance for ?
'B' :
Myself
!

Judge: Whom would you give credits for your performance?
'B' : My parents, choreographers etc etc.

Judge: Thank you!

Now the question is, imagine yourself as a judge and take a decision on who should win.

If I was a judge,

my opinion for 'A' would be:
Its good that he had danced for audience, but how can he give credits to himself', does he have no respect for his gurus.
for 'B' i would think:
Forget credits... does he don't care for audience or even judges .....how can he say he just dance for himself.

And now for those who are thinking of being diplomatic, let me tell you, you would either have
no value or you are very mean (find the reason yourself, I know you are smart enough !!)

So what you have to say ? Whom would you choose? and Why, of course ?

I think its still a topic to debate.... I don't think I'll ever get a concrete answer to it, ever !!

I would like to know your point of view, so do drop a comment below.

Thanks for reading...I appreciate it.

How good are you than others ?

The thought came into my mind when my neighbour gave my example to his son (in a positive way of course) and this made me realize that am I actually good enough to set an example to others ? because I myself know how good and how bad I am ! on a contrary I guess everyone of us was compared to others in some way or the other, either in academics, sports, social behavior or etiquettes, etc. etc..

Well, throughout my life I was compared with many people, for instance I was compared to someone for my mathematics' skill, or my memory skills or my cricketing skills! people always questioned me whether I could dance, sing, play guitar like others do, I had no answer,t I still have no answer ;P

But I take this in positive way, not by learning those things but by thinking that, they say it because they know, I have certain things that they don't possess and they are trying to overshadow me...this actually makes you feel good, it builds a kind of undefined confidence which cannot be explained.....

What I feel is everyone has that 'a class apart' quality! Its just a fact of the matter that most of this qualities are common to many. The difference is the people who gets compared, doesn't know their quality/ies. . . . . . . .

But not always you have to think that you are better than others sometimes the comparison is for your good, its for motivating you to take up something.....I know you people didn't got this one...let me put this in this way, suppose that you are good in cooking and you are compared for your mathematics' skills, then you should not think what I mentioned above, instead you should try to raise your level, or raise your game (...in my words).

What I have noticed in two decades of my life (I know its too less to be a pundit) is that people tends to either go overconfident or become depressed on being compared for non-sense stuff..
you ought to have faith in yourself than anyone else....

When I complained this to my grandfather regarding such comparison, he just told me one thing...Its upto a person that whether he wants to listen such things or make it fall on deaf ears...he meant if you let such speculations affect you it might be positive or negative but if you don't you end up being on neutral side....If you ask me I'll choose the later option, not because I don't have guts to face it, but because I believe that such things affect more negatively than positive....there is a saying that if you sit on a poker table you end up losing more than winning...

So, the moral of the story is, believe in those who believe in you and try and be true to yourself, atleast !

Cheers !!

AMBITION - Need of the hour !

My thought of being ambitious came way before the thought of writing this blog...

It came when I was in sixth grade....struggling for a place in class toppers' list which was more or less the same every exam. That time I knew nothing about the word 'AMBITION', you can call it just a madness to reach at the pole position. Thus in regards to that madness I started my journey towards that position, putting in loads of effort, changing to hard worker from hardly worker... It all finally paid up in my ninth grade.
Many of you who watched '3 Idiots' may not find this blog pleasing, but believe me guys the feeling of being at the top is unexplainable, if you have achieved it by fair means. Since, "Losing fairly is more honourable then Winning by cheating"...
Few years later when I joined engineering college I realised that tough I know the meaning of 'AMBITION', the instinct it still missing. I never ever had long term goals in my life that time.....days passed...still nothing achieved, forget achieving top spot, I was struggling to score 1st class, then something new happened in my life, no I didn't fall in love, I joined our college's racing team which participates at international events...I started to feel the ambitious air flowing around...giving me my first and only long term goal (i will not disclose it, you will come to know in future). Tough being ambitious never affected my result, they are pretty much the same :D.
This was about me, lets talk in general. Why being ambitious is need of the hour ? the simple answer to this is that today the supply has exceeded the demand, with more and more professionals around one doesn't want to be taken for granted....Well, I am not saying to suppress other and emerge victorious, play fair! don't try to degrade others instead try to upgrade yourself at the same time don't try for runner ups' position, be victorious! I know my words may sound like that of Adolf Hitler....but what I am trying to say is "Even if you are a cobbler, be the best in that area !" everyone would agree that if one has toothache he would trust a dentist more than a family doctor...its a world of specialisation.... Even I know I am a no specialist either in any prospects but still working my ways out. I don't agree with the saying "Try try till you succeed ", I would rather put this as "Try try to certain extent till you succeed, more tries is a waste of time, instead try something else".

In todays ever changing world no one is going to remember after you die, you can generate examples yourself for this.
Its said that "If you want to be remembered after you die, then either write thing worth reading, or do things worth writing"

Its better said then done.. getting to top is not easy, agreed totally, but maintaining that top position is no baby's business. You had to be on your toes every time, tough I haven't experienced it but observed many people, it can be even tougher then one can imagine.

Concluding, I would like to say that coming second is not bad, its just that you are one step away from what you had aimed. This make even tougher when you have only one attempt to chuck bull's eye, in that case you need to try even harder, don't get disheartened even if you lose, you tried your level best......

Alas! all tis sums up to one sentence, "YOU NEVER WIN SILVER YOU ALWAYS LOSE GOLD"......

All the best !!

Life after Exams and before Results

Half-a-dozen months ago , after getting in to an Engineering college against all odds of relatives I felt satisfied about my life's so called "Twists & Turns " . Days passed and I again came back to a normal life of an INDIAN student , assignments needed to be submitted day in or day out, and that to by any means whatsoever.
All this was just about started to prove more than enough ,but ! but! but! the dates of the University Exams banged in and guess what , all of a sudden my mind changed to Studies. Then came the big day , the day when you first face the exam which will genuinely decide your future, to be honest, though every exams do decide our future. Besides all speculations , the questions suggested by the scholars ,as if they have set the Q paper.
Alas ! the exams got over & I got an entire fortnight to chill at my place . Meeting friends ( connecting these days) asking the worst question ever after exams ," How was the paper dude ?". Bloody hell ! .
The summer was back , encroaching heat and hour 'n' half long journey to college.
As soon as you you enter in the class, at first you think that you have entered in a new class ,as you see most of your mates in altogether a new look , some appreciated and some not ! Exactly in the break you come to know that the results date had been announced , and when you ask the source you come to know that its not the university who decided the date instead it came from someone's friend's friend. " O Gosh " . On the next day you get news from your friend's coaching professor that so and so subject has so and so passing percentages....and you come to know that your best paper has the lowest passing percentage and eventually we get sleepless nights , thinking about the ATKTs , how many more subjects do I need to learn again and most importantly will I get placement ?

On concluding , perhaps this is the way it is . Its up to a person how he carries all this (non-sense) stuff. Taking it positively, it makes us strong from within and composed from outside. If you pass out this period I think you have cleared one of the biggest challenges in your life , keeping in mind the suicides of Engineering students . I just hope that I , you and we all clear this exam , if not with distinction ,then at least with 1st class , even pass class will do , because you don't get second chance always !!!
